Bangladesh - provisional overprints

After the independence of Bangladesh (East Pakistan) local post office officials used hand stamp overprints on stamps from Pakistan. These overprints consist of the country name Bangladesh or Bangla Desh in English and/or Bengali. Also some stamps were overprinted by using machines.

Collecting these overprints is a real speciality and complete catalogue lists are not available. Overprints that are part of the UNOstamps collection can be found on this special page.
